Welcome This site deals with issues of interest for those who hope to see stronger local governments in Canada. It includes an archive of the 69 bulletins issued between 1999 and 2006, and a library of useful resources about local government issues. The bulletin was sent free of charge to about 1,500 subscribers across Canada, including many local councillors.

This site was closed and archived in December 2006.

Featured Articles: Thank you, and farewell December, 2006 I have been writing and distributing the Local Government Bulletin for the past seven years. In the last 12 months I’ve found it harder to maintain interest as the opportunities for local government empowerment appear to have diminished. For me it is time to move on. I don’t feel the moment for change is in the air, and at this point there is little I can add to the debate. It’s time for me to focus on other challenges.
